How to Choose Car Turntable Diameter for Driveways and Garages
Use vehicle wheelbase, body overhang, turning clearance and available site space to choose a practical car turntable diameter.
The best car turntable diameter should be selected by the real vehicle and the site, not only by the total vehicle length. Wheelbase, front overhang, rear overhang and tire position all affect how the car sits on the platform.
For residential projects, the goal is usually to let the driver enter and exit forward without reversing into a tight road or slope. For showrooms, the platform may need more visual margin around the vehicle.
Before choosing a model, prepare the longest vehicle length, wheelbase, vehicle width, gross weight and a simple site sketch. Photos of the entrance and floor are also helpful.
If multiple vehicles will use the turntable, select the diameter and rated load for the largest and heaviest vehicle expected in daily use.
